Why do we forget what we memorize?

The most disheartening thing for anyone memorizing the Quran is not the effort of memorizing — it is discovering months later that what was memorized has quietly slipped away. Two reasons are usually behind it: moving to a new juz before mastering the one before it, and having no organized review that brings pages back exactly when they are about to fade.

QURANINO is built around these two problems. It does not let you move to a new juz until you have mastered the previous one — memorizing, reviewing, and passing its test — and it reminds you automatically which pages are due for review today, based on how you performed on each one.

Warsh from Nafi — rare in memorization apps

Most Quran apps offer only Hafs from Assim, which leaves those who read in Warsh from Nafi — across Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and West Africa — without a tool that matches their mushaf.

In QURANINO you choose your recitation from the start: the full Quran text in your chosen riwayah, with reciters who actually recite in it — not one riwayah’s text paired with another’s audio. You can switch later without losing your progress in either, because each riwayah keeps its own record.

Voice correction: the app listens and finds your mistake

This matters most if you have no teacher to recite to daily. Open a page you have memorized, tap recite, and start from memory — the app listens through your microphone and compares what you say against the text, word by word.

• 4. Recite it back in your own voice and let the app correct you.
• 5. Review daily so nothing you mastered slips away.

For blind and visually impaired users

Most memorization apps assume you can see: text to read, small buttons to find, colours to tell apart. Blind users — often among the most devoted to the Book — end up depending on someone else at every step.

QURANINO includes a full blind-friendly mode, not merely bigger text:

• Spoken instructions — the screen name, the group number, the step required of you and your recitation score are all announced aloud.
• Recitation plays automatically in the listen and repeat steps, so you never hunt for a play button.
• Works alongside TalkBack and VoiceOver — every control is labelled, with a live region that announces status changes.
• Voice correction listens to you and names the exact word you got wrong — doing the work of someone sitting and listening to you.
• For low vision: six Quran text sizes up to roughly 100px, zoom buttons inside the memorization screen, 56px buttons and stronger contrast.
• You can switch the mode on before you even register, from the first screen — you should not need sight to find the feature that replaces sight.

A principle we hold to: synthetic speech never recites the Quran here. Recitation always comes from real reciters (more than 40 of them); the synthetic voice speaks interface instructions only, because it errs in pauses and elongation and must not be used to teach recitation.
